A sales funnel is a powerful tool, and it’s also kind of an amorphous idea that most people shy away from because it sounds complicated. 

Don’t be scared!

This can be one of the most brilliant things you ever create for your business and it can start out super simple. 

There are 3 Main Steps to a Sales Funnel:

  • The Opt-In:
    This is where they say yes, they give you their email, they purchase something, or they show up to the event

  • The Delivery:
    This is the step where you give them what you promised. The pdf, the video training, the deliverables that they opted into.

  • The Next Step:
    This is where you invite them to something greater! You give them a next step to take that is usually a slightly bigger commitment than what they’ve already done with you.

 You can see how simple these three pieces are. 

The fun part is when you start daisy-chaining them together…

 

They opt-in to your free gift on your website, they receive that gift, then you invite them to buy a low-cost mini-course.

*That’s another opt-in.*

So they then receive the mini-course, and at the end, through emails and in the actual material, they are invited to another next step. Perhaps a bigger mid-range course offering. 

*When they say yes, they have now opted in a third time.*

Give them what you promised, and then invite them to something bigger. 

At some point your 1-1 services, high-end group program, mastermind, or big live event will come into play. 

The image I like to think of here is a pond with lily pads…

If the lily pads are too far apart, less people will take the next step. 

If the lily pads are not lined up in a way that makes logical sense (i.e. the person could obviously use/need/desire that next step from what they’ve already received) then less people will take that next step.

When done right, you’ve essentially created a set-it-and-forget-it tool that will bring in new potential clients, fostered your connection to them, delivered amazing content, and guided them on a journey to investing more time, energy, and money in working with you. 

More relationship building, more “know, like, and trust” factor, more connection, more contribution, more ease from here on out.
